Northeast Asia expo to attract big money projects

The third Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo, which opened on Sunday, will attract projects collectively worth more than US$9 billion, said Chen Weigen, vice governor of Jilin province, Xinhua reported (in Chinese). The expo, with the theme of "opportunity, exchange, cooperation and development," is co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the State Council's Office of Revitalizing the Old Industrial Base in Northeast China and the Jilin provincial government. The event has attracted more than 70 state officials, 50,000 investors and merchants from 61 countries and regions.
