To fit words into headlines is it apparently OK to use TD instead of TD-SDCMA which is the Chinese standard and, as a set of letters, somewhat ungainly.
Feng Jun, president of Beijing Huaqi Information Digital Technology, which is the company behindAigo will soon tap into the TD mobile phone market.
First it will start from 2G handsets and then venture into the most profitable 3G sector. And it will try to expand into the international market.
The latest three CDMA mobile phones launched by Aigo have been adopted by China Telecom in a recent procurement. Aigo is scheduled to deliver these phones to the telecom carrier in the fourth quarter of 2008.
To ride the 3G boom, Aigo is about to launch a host of new hits covering all three international 3G standards: TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, and CDMA 2000. But, the president stresses that Aigo will give the priority to TD handsets because TD-SCDMA is China’s homegrown 3G standard.
