Air China said it has reached an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of US$4.49 billion worth of aircraft at a discount.
Air China will buy 10 Airbus 330-series aircraft and 10 Airbus 350-series aircraft.
The basic price of the aircraft is about US$4.49 billion, but Airbus has granted the airline "significant price concessions" in the form of "credit memoranda," which may be used by Air China towards the final price of the aircraft or to buy goods and services from Airbus, Europe’s biggest aircraft maker.
Wopopular reported Air China as saying "the actual consideration for the Airbus aircraft is lower than the aircraft’s basic price." The transaction will increase fleet capacity by about 18.6%.
