It is the 5th-largest airline in Asia, 5th-largest in the world in terms of domestic cargo traffic and 18th-largest airline in the world in terms of fleet size. Market Watch reported Air China net income for the first quarter more than doubled from a year earlier, because of a rapid rebound in demand for air travel and that profit for the three months were up 121% from the year earlier, the carrier’s Shanghai-listed shares fell 2.5%, with some analysts saying the strong results had been priced in, given the stock’s recent outstanding performance.
