Air China has new domestic routes for the late summer and autumn seasons. These include Beijing-Manzhouli, Chengdu-Urumqi-Korla Sinkiang and Chongqing-Qingdao and are plainly aimed at the holiday traffic.
Manzhouli is located on the borders of China, Mongolia and Russia and has become a popular tourist destination in recent years, according to Air China. The airline says the new route will promote economic, trade and tourism development in Manzhouli, improve communications and cooperation between the city and Beijing and strengthen cooperation between China and its neighboring countries.
The Chengdu-Urumqi-Korla Sinkiang route is part of the government’s support program for Xinjiang and connects Xinjiang with the central regions of China, helping build the autonomous region’s economic and cultural development.
Airlines and Destinations reports Air China launched the Chongqing-Qingdao route because visits to the coasts and seaside resorts of China are becoming more and more popular.
