Akasha's $350m solar power project

Renewable energy developer Akasha Energy will build a US$350 million solar power plant in Hetao in the Chengyang district of Qingdao, a major city in China’s eastern Shandong province.
Andy Lutz, CEO of Denver-based Akasha Energy, said the project – which will produce 144 megawatts of solar power – still needs to be approved by the Chinese federal government’s renewable energy planning committee. The plant will be built on 585 acres (236.7 hectares) of land.
Denver Business Journal reports that Akasha signed an agreement in June to have EMAX Enterprises, based in Hong Kong, represent Akasha in China. EMAX promotes the use of advanced technology in the Chinese domestic market.
