The Chinese government imposed anti-dumping penalties on companies importing toluene diisocyanate from Japan, South Korea and the US.
Importers of the chemical from these countries will have to pay an anti-dumping tax ranging from 3 percent to 49 percent, according to the decision announced by the Ministry of Commerce.
Toluene diisocyanate, or TDI, is used as a chemical intermediate in the production of polyurethane products such as foams and coatings.
