Designated airlines of ASEAN member states will soon be able to fly and carry traffic from their respective capitals and any city with an international airport in its territory to its counterpart in the other member states as well as to and from China.
This comes after the signing of a multilateral agreement by ASEAN’s transport ministers at a ministerial meeting held in Brunei recently.
ASEAN currently has 10 member states and they are Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.
And not only have they expanded their skies to each other, they have also given more space to China, one of their Dialogue Partners.
Borneo Bulletin Weekend reports that the ASEAN-China Air Transport Agreement, signed at the 9th ASEAN and China Transport Ministers Meeting, is the first on open skies between ASEAN and its Dialogue Partners.
