Authorities axe Bingdian Weekly

The Bingdian Weekly, which has appeared in the China Youth Daily's Wednesday edition for the past 11 years, has been closed by authorities, the South China Morning Post reported. Sources said it was "officially closed down for improvement" but that the closure was most likely linked to a recent article that was critical of the official textbook interpretation of the Boxer Rebellion. Bingdian editor Li Datong's weblog and the Bingdian website were erased Tuesday night.
