AVIC and Goodrich to work together making aircraft

China Aviation Industry Corporation (AVIC), which is the result of combining earlier entities, will form a partnership with Goodrich Corporation, the US aerospace and defense services provider, to make landing-gear and engine-casing parts for Chinese civil aircraft, through the subsidiary Xi’an Aircraft International Corporation.

Xi’an Aircraft International and Goodrich will establish two 50-50 ventures engaged in professional landing-gear and engine-casing parts production, respectively.

This particular getting together is the first one of its kind in China.

It will be located in the Xi’an Yanliang National Aviation Hi-tech Industrial, Shaanxi Province, northwest China and will form a complete industry chain concerning R&D, production, testing, airworthiness certification, and sales service. And they will actively participate in manufacturing of the landing-gear and engine-casing parts installed on both domestic and overseas commercial aircrafts.

Trading Markets points out the two companies have worked together in various areas for some years.
