Beijing’s export and import value in the first 10 months rose 42% from a year earlier to US$243.2 billion, according to the Beijing Statistics Bureau.
Beijing saw its export value increase 16.9% year-on-year to US$45.4 billion and the import value surge 49.3% to US$197.8 billion during the period. The city recorded a trade deficit of US$152.4 billion in the 10-month period, 62.7% more than in the same period of last year.
During the period, Beijing exported US$27.75 billion worth of mechanical and electronics products, 11.9% more than in the same period of last year. Cell phone exports by volume rose 15% year-on-year to 140 million units, with an export value of US$9 billion.
