[photopress:Zhongguancun_Science_Park__.gif,full,alignright]Beijing is the most expensive location in mainland China for industrial occupiers, according to a report by Cushman & Wakefield. In 2006, industrial rents increased by 9% and the capital saw a rapid rise in demand for logistics space.
‘Beijing is currently the prime location for the high-tech industry in mainland China,’ commented Andy Zhang, General Manager of Cushman & Wakefield Beijing. ‘However, we anticipate it will become increasingly popular with manufacturing and logistics industries in the near future, due to its organic integration with Tianjin muncipality and the surrounding cities of the Hebei province’.
This year’s rankings saw Hong Kong move up one place to the thirteenth most expensive city for industrial occupiers and its rents grew by 16%. Shanghai’s rents grew by 20% and London was rated the most expensive.
