A 20-degree celsius thermostat maximum is planned for Beijing this winter to reduce energy consumption, reported state media. When demand outran energy supply last winter, PetroChina turned off gas for residential and industrial consumers. Some 2.91 billion cubic meters of natural gas have been earmarked for the season which began November 15.
