Boeing (BA.NYSE) raised its forecast for China plane demand on Asia’s booming tourist market, saying the country would need over 5,500 aircrafts in the next 20 years, Reuters reported. As the world’s second-biggest aircraft market, China is key to Boeing’s long-term global strategy and the company said its estimate of 5,580 planes valued at US$780 billion represents a tripling of China’s fleet, a 6% increase over last year’s estimate. In June, Boeing bumped up its 20-year forecast for global airplane demand, up 3.8% from its previous two-decade outlook, citing growth in Asia-Pacific travel.
