A survey by a Chinese branding and corporate communications company found that business leaders in Britain see China as a place of opportunity but the media and communication sectors still consider China a "threat."
The survey, conducted by UK-based KL Communications, found that UK business leaders are "most pro-China" while many from the media and communication sectors still tended to view Beijing as a threat.
The study found that 66% of the people surveyed rank China as more of an opportunity, with senior people in politics and NGOs giving China the highest rating, at 81%. But 41% from the media and communications industry see China as more of a threat, compared to the 34% overall figure.
Sify News reports that while the sample size of the survey – 126 people – was not big, those surveyed were "carefully selected" opinion leaders from four categories – London’s financial center and business, politics and NGOs, media and communications, and the public sector.
