Brownouts every day in China's southeast

China's manufacturing industries in the country's southeast corner suffered daily brownouts throughout the first half of the year, Lu Qizhou, deputy general manager of the State Grid Corp, told state media. He warned the utility would keep enforcing power cuts in sectors failing to conform to national macroeconomic policies. Another utility official called for less investment in car, steel, cement and other industries suffering from inefficiencies or production gluts.
