Budget Spring Airlines to order $3bn worth of aircraft

China’s largest budget carrier Spring Airlines is set to order up to 30 Airbus (AIR.EPA) A320 aircraft worth US$3 billion at list prices, Reuters reported, citing an interview with the company’s chairman Wang Zhenghua. The planned order comes amid an expected surge in low-cost air travel. Spring hopes to divide the order between the current model of the Airbus A320 and the re-engined A320neo, Wang Zhenghua said on the sidelines of a regional low-cost airlines conference in Singapore. Spring wants to begin taking deliveries from the new order in 2015.
