Call for bids on research projects

The Ministry of Information Industry (MII) called for Chinese companies to bid on 19 technology research projects to be funded by the Electronics and Information Industry Development Fund. The projects cover Linux software, semiconductors, network game software, digital cameras and TV, 3G mobile technology and other areas, including polymer batteries. Last year, the fund solicited bids for 24 projects focused on Java 2 Platform, Internet content publishing, 32-bit microprocessors, flash memory chips, 3G technology and other areas.
