Canadian firm wins drilling rights

A subsidiary of Sunwing Energy of Canada has signed a joint exploration deal with China National Petroleum Corp to tap gas fields in Sichuan province. The subsidiary, Pan-China Resources, will prospect an area of 3,560 sq km in Zitong county in the north of the province. While it will take all exploration risks, CNPC is entitled to take a 51 per cent stake in any fields that are discovered.
