Cable dominance
Statistics released by the Ministry of Radio, Film and Television in Beijing showed yet again the dominance of China in any quantitative picture of Asian media trends, writes Andrew Green of Zenith Media. In announcing that the number of cabled households had risen from 35m in 1995 to 51m in 1996, the ministry forecast that some 60m would have signed up by the end of 1997.
