China and seven of its Central and South Asian neighbors signed a memorandum of understanding at the Second Euro-Asia Economic Reform in Xi'an, Shaanxi province on Friday, Economic Observer reported (in Chinese). Delegates from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and India committed to further cooperation in energy, tourism, education, finance and diplomatic relations, under the document. The purpose of the biannual forum, which is organized under the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, is to improve cooperation to enhance cooperation development for countries in the region. Delegates from UNESCO and the World Trade Organization were also present.
