China and Russia, political rivals for years, are now close partners in expanding energy and economic projects. President Hu Jintao plans to sign energy agreements with Russia in the next few days in Moscow, the South China Morning Post reported, citing China's foreign ministry. Both sides aim to increase trade from US$21bn last year to US$80bn by 2020, and China plans to invest US$12bn in Russia by 2020.
