China’s Jianghuai Automobile (JAC), represented in Brazil by the SHC group, is planning to set up a network of dealers in the country in 2011 and hopes to sell 35,000 vehicles in the first year.
Sergio Habib, the president of SHC group, said in Sao Paulo that the initial investment to introduce the brand in Brazil would be US$200 million and includes the cost of opening 46 dealerships in the country in March 2011.
The SHC group claims to be Brazil’s top vehicle reseller. JAC is based in China’s Anhui province.
Gasgoo reports JAC will find competition with its Chinese rival Chery, which recently announced plans for a US$400 million factory in Brazil that will begin producing in late 2013.
