China Aviation Oil bought 630,000 metric tons of jet fuel for the period of October through December, an increase of annual fuel volume of 30.2% from last year. Fuel purchases for 2004 total 2.58 million metric tons. The firm bought 1.98 million metric tons in 2003. The company currently provides one-third of China's jet fuel. China Aviation Oil bought most of the fuel from refiners in Singapore and South Korea. Based on usage estimates of 5-6 million metric tons for this year, analysts said China's fuel consumption could rise by 15% next year.
