State-owned China Aviation Supplies Holding ordered 70 jetliners from Europe’s Airbus on Wednesday amid expectations of strong growth in the Chinese airline industry in the coming years, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a statement by Airbus. China Aviation Supplies, which procures aircraft for all of China’s airlines, signed a firm order worth at least US$9.9 billion for 43 A320 and 27 A330 jets for airlines in all segments of the market, including domestic, low cost, regional and international long haul markets.
