China has re-imposed a ban on Thai poultry, citing renewed fears of bird flu contamination, state media reported. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and the Ministry of Agriculture issued a joint statement Thursday announcing plans to return or destroy all poultry and poutry products imported from Thailand after October 27. China ended its previous ban on October 16. Products that entered China between the end of the previous ban and the beginning of the new one will be tested for the bird flu virus before they enter the market.
