China Eastern passenger volume soars

Passenger volume on China Eastern Airlines, the country’s third-largest carrier, rose 53.61% year-on-year to 5.62 million in September. Passenger throughput on domestic flights increased 50.85% year-on-year to 4.78 million, while the passenger load factor rose 8.87 percentage points to 78.99%.
The airline’s cargo and mail throughput also climbed, up 31.88% year-on-year to 129,700 metric tons last month.
China Knowledge reports that in the first nine months of this year, the company carried a total of 48.54 million passengers, 47.61% more than in the same period of last year.
