November passenger volume at China Eastern Airlines, the country’s third-largest carrier, rose 40.26% year-on-year to 5.06 million. Coming from a year that was fairly low it is still a staggering increase.
Passenger throughput on its domestic flights increased 39.4% year-on-year to 4.34 million last month. Passenger load factor rose 2.03 percentage points to 75.74%.
And it is not just passengers. The airline’s cargo and mail throughput also increased 31.45% year-on-year.
In the first 11 months of this year, the company carried a total of 59.74 million passengers, 46.91% more than in the same period of last year.
China Knowledge.com reports that the airline has boomed in every area of its operations, with passenger numbers for the first 11 months leading the way and cargo and mail throughput not far behind with a 56.88% increase year-on-year.
