China ends arms sales to South Sudan

The Chinese government halted the sale of weapons by China North Industries Group to South Sudan after discovering the state-owned manufacturer had shipped a consigment worth US$38 million to the country, Bloomberg reported, citing a statement from an attache at the Chinese embassy in South Sudan. “No more weapons are heading to South Sudan,” attache Lan Kun said in an interview. “There are some media reports that were alleging that the Chinese government was behind this business operation and wants to undermine this peace process. That is totally untrue.”
