China and EU resolve solar trade dispute

Germany’s Wacker Chemie (WCH.ETR) and China’s Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday announced a deal over the pricing of a European-produced polysilicon, a key component in solar panels, ending another trade battle between Brussels and Beijing, Financial Times reported. The deal, which sets a minimum price for the polysilicon that Beijing had accused European producers of dumping on the Chinese market, comes ahead of a Brussels visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping on March 31. China has made clear that it wants an end to trade hostility with the EU, its biggest trading partner.
