China faces most 'complex' year for economy

This year will be the most "complex" year for China’s economy in over a decade as the nation faces multiple challenges in the wake of the global financial crisis, state media reported, citing a senior official from the National People’s Congress. Yin Zhongqing, deputy director of the Finance and Economy Committee of the National People’s Congress said greater risks and challenges lay ahead as "many deeply-rooted problems remain to be solved, coupled with newly-emerged issues." He added that sharp rises and big falls in economic growth are both likely this year but the most worrying factors are overheating and overcapacity in several industries while threats to structural inflation mount.
