China was the most frequent target of antidumping investigations in the first half of 2002, according to World Trade Organisation statistics. However, the number of investigations , 16, was lower than the 24 instigated in the same period of 2001. The US initiated four investigations against China in the period and India three. The mainland also had the highest number of final anti-dumping measures imposed on its exports, at 19, more than twice as many as the nine imposed on Taiwan, whose total was the next highest.
