If you are very wealthy, what you need to emphasize your status is a private jet. Or a helicopter. At the moment you cannot do that in China because the airspace below 4,000 meters is not open to privately owned civilian aircraft.
Now it looks like a decision will be made that will open up one of the world’s largest untapped markets for corporate and other private aviation.
The Central Military Commission and the State Council, or China‘s cabinet, said in a policy paper that low altitude airspace would be gradually opened to private aircraft. Any aircraft flying at 1,000 meters or lower will be able to take off and fly without any prior approval or paperwork.
GulfNews.com reports that aircraft flying below 4,000 meters but above 1,000 meters will be required to file a flight plan with the authorities but will not need to get approval in order to fly.
