Officials within China's State Development Planning Commission said that China will purchase 30 airplanes from Boeing. The Boeing 737 planes, to be used by Chinese carriers such as Shandong Airlines and Xiamen Airlines, will cost around US$2 billion.
Boeing officials said that the airplane sale would likely be finalized during Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to the US.
