A long expected karaoke copyright fee will soon be charged at karaoke clubs, according to China Audio-Video Collective Administration (CAVCA), Shanghai Morning Post reported (in Chinese). The copy right fee is planed to be imposed in this year throughout the country. "We are busy adjusting internal structure to get the legal status for the collection of the fee," said Feng Quanpu, press officer of CAVCA. "We are willing to pay for the copyrights, if it is legal and reasonable," said Xu Shuping, head of Shanghai Culture and Entertainment Industry Association.
