China Daily reports China will spend $65.9 billion to expand or build at least 60 airports in the next two years.
Construction on at least 40 of the projects will begin in 2009, and is expected to cost more than $29.3 billion.
Projects include the expansion of existing airports in Shanghai Pudong, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Nanjing.
New airports will be built in inland cities such as Yan’an city in Shaanxi province.
