China unveils anti-secession law

China unveiled a law authorizing military force against moves by Taiwan toward formal independence while warning other countries not to interfere. The law will be voted on March 14. The United States urged Beijing to reconsider, while Taiwan denounced the law and announced renewal of war games to prepare for any attack.
