Foreign direct investment in China decreased a slight 0.79% in the first five months of this year, attracting US$22.4bn, state media reported. In that period, China approved 16,437 new foreign invested ventures, down 4.75% from last year. While the January-May figures show the growth rate of China's foreign investments declining, researchers say the slow-down is a statistical inevitability given the huge FDI China posted in 2004.
