[photopress:land_for_housing.jpg,full,alignright]China’s land supply for housing grew 35.5% year-on-year in the first five months of this year. For commercial buildings the jump of 76.3%. For low cost houses it was an impressive 166%.
Gan Zangchun, the state´s vice chief supervisor of land, said, ‘China’s land and resource department has expanded land supply for real estate use since the house price rose recently.’
According to the Bulletin of China´s Land and Resources published recently, China approved additional 404,300 hectares of land for construction use in 2006 — an increase of 15.3% year-on-year.
