The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said China’s auto exports jumped to 47,200 vehicles in August, bringing total exports for the first eight months of the year to 336,100 units, up 80.01% over the same period last year.
Passenger vehicle exports in August reached 26,400 units, reflecting a modest 3.6% increase from July and a massive increment of 167% over August 2009.
Exports of commercial vehicles totaled 20,800 units, down 1.11% month-on-month but up by 72.55% from last year.
According to CAAM figures, Chery has led the way so far this year.
China Car Times reports that Chery is pushing hard into South American and Eastern European markets where its vehicles have been well received.
