Chinese magnesium may face US duties

A US commission gave preliminary approval to antidumping duties on magnesium metal imports from China and Russia. The US International Trade Commission voted unanimously that cheap imports from the two countries were hurting US suppliers and suggested levying duties of 141.49% on China and of 101.24% on Russia. The vote came after US magnesium producers filed a complaint in February. It is required to precede the US Commerce Department setting up preliminary anti-dumping duties on imports. Magnesium is used to make low-weight auto parts.
