Cloud computing base to rise in Harbin

China will build a complete industrial chain of cloud computing technology in Harbin, the capital of northeastern China‘s Heilongjing province, over the next three years. To be called the "China Cloud Valley," this new technology base will include a cloud computing center base; an application, innovation and R&D base; and a business incubator base.

Cloud computing is internet-based computing whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices on-demand, somewhat similar to the way we use electricity. Put another way, it is the shared use of resources from several computers working through networks.
Global Times
reports that the "China Cloud Valley" will mainly develop industries involved in cloud computing, especially film, TV and new media production as well as animation production.
