COMAC signs deals for C919 jet

Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) has signed deals to build 100 of its C919 passenger jets to several domestic and overseas airlines, state media reported. COMAC signed agreements with Air China (601111.SH, 0573.HK), China Southern (ZNH.NYSE, 600029.SH, 1055.HK), China Eastern (CEA.NYSE, 600115.SH, 0670.HK), Hainan Airlines (900945.SH), CDB Leasing and GE Capital Aviation Services. COMAC chairman Zhang Qingwei said a draft design of the C919 jet is scheduled for completion by year-end with test flights due 2014; deliveries are planned for 2016. The single-aisle jet is to be available in 168-seat and 156-seat models.
