FBI probes hacking of US-China security group

The FBI is investigating the hacking of emails sent and received by members of a congressionally appointed group that reports on the economic and military relationship between the US and China, the Financial Times reported, quoting two people familiar with the matter. The probe thus far points to an Indian hacking group, which posted several emails on the internet this week claiming to have been gathered information from an Indian military intelligence command memo. If genuine, the memo would suggest that Indian spies are interested in how China is engaging companies like General Electric (GE.NYSE) to bolster its economic process. One State Department official said the dialogue between India and the US had broadened in recent months to address India’s fears that it might find itself on the outside of a strong bilateral compact between Washington and Beijing.
