Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang is under pressure to reveal the details of his personal travel expenses in a new wave of public scrutiny as the territory prepares to hand over the governing position to candidate Henry Tang, the South China Morning Post reported. Tsang said that he had travelled on two private jets and two private yachts owned by his friends during his tenure in office, but insisted that he had fairly compensated them. “I must make sure there is no conflict of interest before taking up any offer for such a trip,” he said. “And I always pay for the trip at the market price, even though this may give an impression of being petty-minded.” The scrutiny comes as Hong Kong prepares to replace Tsang with Henry Tang, a candidate endorsed by Beijing who is increasingly unpopular and has been accused of a lavish lifestyle.
