US-based fiber-optic cable manufacturer Corning Inc said the Chinese government had reversed a decision imposing a tariff on its cables after ruling last year that the company had dumped standard single-mode optical fiber into the Chinese market. In a statement Corning said the Ministry of Commerce had decided that the prices for its optical-fiber cables were not below what Chinese market considered justified. An earlier ruling, in effect since last June, had imposed a 16% tariff on Corning cables.
