The police are to be used to help enforce a ban on ticket agents offering airfare discounts, according to a report in the Shanghai Morning Post. A spokesman for China Eastern Airlines told AFX-ASIA that any strengthening of enforcement might lead to a decline in passenger volumes. He said there had been a reduction in volume since the recent passenger aircraft crashes and that official ticket prices were already too high.
