Talks between the semi-official organizations representing Taiwan and the mainland will be held every six months, marking the first time the high-level negotiations will become a regular exchange, the South China Morning Post reported. The chairman of Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), Chiang Pin-kung said Thursday while visiting Taiwanese businesses in Dongguan that he had reached the agreement for regular talks with his mainland counterpart, Chen Yunlin, chief of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARAT). The two met behind closed doors on Wednesday to work out the agenda for their next meeting. Among the issues on the agenda will be how to facilitate lending by Taiwan banks to businesses on the mainland and mainland investment in Taiwan.
