The Hong Kong affiliate of Japan’s Itochu Corporation has signed a deal with Euro- Asia Agricultural (Holdings) for the supply of cut flowers for the Japanese market, JCN Newswire reported. The flowers will come from Liaoning, Jilin and Hebei provinces where Euro-Asia has a total of 60 hectares of glasshouses growing flowers and vegetables, with some of the produce already exported to Holland and South Korea. Itochu said that the deal initially covered only cut flowers, such as roses, chrysanthemums, lilies and carnations, but it hopes to expand its purchases to include orchard seedlings and fresh vegetables.
