Delays in flight routes from the US

     United Airlines

United Airlines, the operating unit of the UAL Corporation, has received permission from the United States Transportation Department to delay until June 2010 the start of flights between San Francisco and Guangzhou because of a drop in travel demand.

The New York Times reports that the one-year postponement is the second by the airline for the route, which originally was to have begun in June 2008.

United, which is based in Chicago, joins Northwest Airlines, American Airlines and US Airways Group in pushing back the start of flights between the United States and China in the last year.
